The Running Residency
The Running Residency program aims to bring 5-7 lower-limb amputees from Israel to the U.S. for fitting with running prosthetics. Participants will be selected based on criteria such as health, fitness, and motivation. The primary goal is to establish running as a sport and culture for amputees in Israel, where there is currently limited support for such activities.
Key Highlights
Program Objectives
Develop a Running Culture for Amputees in Israel
Running is one of the top sports for amputees worldwide but is nearly nonexistent in Israel.
Build Confidence and Promote Independence
Empower amputees with the skills and confidence to pursue running, helping shift cultural perceptions around amputee athletics.
Create a Central Knowledge Base
Equip Israeli professionals with the expertise needed to support amputee athletes, currently lacking in Israel’s healthcare and sports training fields.
Expand Future Competitions
Enable Israeli amputees to compete in domestic and international races and triathlons, establishing a long-term competitive team.
Want to make an even greater impact?
While fundraising isn’t required to join, every dollar raised brings us closer to our $250,000 goal. It takes just $36,000 to fund one amputee’s participation. By signing up for the Million Miler Club, you’ll have the option to create your own personal fundraising page to help make a lasting difference.
With your help, we can
- Equip Israeli amputees with professional-grade running prosthetics
- Provide personalized, high-impact training in the U.S. with world-class professionals.
- Empower our team to bring the benefits of running back to Israel and foster a new community
It takes $36,000 to transform one amputee's life through this program.
